Hi there, I’m Hayley
I am a writer, teacher and former Director of the Wollongong Writers Festival who lives and writes on Dharawal country. My current work-in-progress, The Push Back, is about a young girl who goes missing from a small country town. The manuscript was awarded the 2019 ASA/Varuna Ray Koppe Fellowship and was shortlisted in the 2020 Penguin Literary Prize. It’s currently shortlisted in the Kill Your Darlings Unpublished Manuscript Prize.
I love talking about all things writing and am a seasoned MC and panel convenor – my interview credits include writers like Clementine Ford and Ellen van Neerven – as well as a workshop presenter. It’s one of my greatest joys to work with people to develop their writing and I’m available for mentoring & freelance editing. Please contact me with any enquiries. I’d love to chat!
