I was fortunate enough to travel to Boorowa (a town roughly equidistant from Young and Yass, as the crow flies) in November last year to have a chat with Jeremy Clarke, owner of The Absolutely Superb Bibliothèque and Occasional Wine Bar. A former Jesuit turned bar-owner, Jeremy had worked out that if you offer writers free booze they will do pretty much anything you ask, and I was honoured to be part of a string of writers who have made the trip to chat about our books.
Jeremy is capitalising on this success and presenting the inaugural writers’ festival in the town! I’ll be travelling there, along with Ashley Kalagian Blunt, James McKenzie Watson, and Iain Payten for a weekend of literary delights, and I can’t wait!
