Upcoming event – Blue Mountains Writers Festival, NSW.

21 – 23 October, 2022.

Tickets are on sale now for the 2022 Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival, held over three days in a range of beautiful venues in Katoomba, including the iconic Carrington Hotel .

On the Festival Saturday, I’m appearing in conversation with Chris Hammer in the event ‘Outback Noir‘.

“Join Hayley Scrivenor, the award-winning novelist of Dirt Town, in conversation with international bestselling writer, Chris Hammer (Scrublands, Silver and Trust) as they discuss Hayley’s stunning crime fiction debut and explore the darkness of outback noir set against unforgiving landscapes, getting beneath the dust and grit to expose the secrets that run deep in remote outback communities.”

The following day, ‘More to Crime Than Meets the Eye’, an event with Nicola White (visiting from Scotland), hosted by the wonderful Maeve Marsden (of Queerstories) is already sold out!

“Join writer, producer, director and performer Maeve Marsden (Queerstories), Irish author Nicola White (A Famished Heart, The Rosary Garden, The Burning Boy) and author Hayley Scrivenor (Dirt Town) as they peel back the psychological layers found in crime fiction. How do family dynamics, thwarted relationships and generational trauma and mistrust play into a dark and compelling crime story? What are the tropes, and how do these writers seek to subvert them?”
