Dirt Town short-listed for two ABIAs

Winners for the Australian Book Industry Awards are determined through a process of selection, first by the ABIA Academy of more than 200 industry professionals, and then a shortlist and winners are chosen by a judging panel.

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that my book, Dirt Town, has been nominated for two awards at the 2023 Australian Book Industry Awards! It’s an incredible honour to be recognised among so many talented authors and books.

Dirt Town has been nominated in two categories: General Fiction Book of the Year and The Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year. Being nominated for two awards is a significant achievement, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to gain exposure and reach new audiences. The Australian Book Industry Awards are among the most respected and prestigious in the country, and I’m humbled to be a part of such a remarkable event.

I’m incredibly grateful to my publisher, Pan Macmillan, who have made it all possible, and excited that I get to go to an honest-to-goodness Award Ceremony (on 25 May, 2023), regardless of the outcome!
